Back in junior high, I had this interesting idea for a magic, supernatural, epic fantasy book that I may still one day write and draw. Recently I found my folder where I collected pages and pages of characters designs I doodled in school notebooks. The drawings were pretty crude, but some of the designs were kind of cool, so I decided to reinterpret some of them.
Daily Sketch: Better Call Saul
You know a show is good when you're genuinely worried for the character's well-being, despite the fact that its a prequel.
New Sequential Pages
No sketch today, but here's some pages I did for a talent hunt entry based on a script they provided me. I think the turned out pretty fun.
Daily Sketch: POWERS
In honor of one of my favorite comics, "POWERS" debuting as a TV show on the Playstation network this week. The pilot episode was.... okay. Some of it I really liked, some of it gave me flashbacks of those FOX made for TV "Generation X" and Nick Fury" movies. But I love the book and the creators enough to give it a few more episodes.
"POWERS" was one of the first independent comics I remember picking up and loving without knowing anything about it or its creators when I first started working at comic shop. In fact, I had "POWERS" fan art printed in an old issue of Wizard magazine back in highschool. I know, I know, quit bragging about your sad acomplishments, Jason.
Daily Sketch: Battle Chasers
It was recently announced one of my favorite books from the late 90's, Battle Chasers, would be returning as a game and more importantly, a comic as well. Joe Madureira, the creator and artist of Battle Chasers, was one of the first artists I ever remember those work I fell in love with and I went on the hunt to find each and every thing he worked on. He started out doing amazing work on Uncanny X-men, and when he left to create his own thing, Battle Chasers, I was completely blown away once again. Though it may not seem like it looking at our styles, he was a huge influence on me artistically.
